He's a lover not a hater!

Well you all know that the Baby Donkeys have just arrived so when I tell you that Donkeys have a 12 month pregnancy, what this guy is after won't need explaining! She resisted for quite a while, but did give in eventually! I couldn't bring myself to photograph 'the deed', it just didn't seem right! He's way off the mark with this picture! Apologies to those with a nervous disposition!

Can't resist a challenge

Willow posted a little challenge over on Scrapping Frenzy to create a page using acetate as the background of the page, and it just so happens i've done a couple of these recently. The first I did a couple of weeks ago and uses a Hambly overlay along with lots of fabby BasicGrey Archaic Chip Stickers.
The second is using an acetate overlay that is a bit of a sneaky peek of things to come soon from Papermania. All I can say is that the girls at my crop went a bit silly over them! And who can blame them!

In preparation...

Far too tired to blog... but after a hour or so of fighting (I lost...) with the scanner today, i'm photographing layouts instead tomorrow... prepare for the mother of all updates!

Spa Day action!

I can't believe how cold it is again here! After a couple of weeks of hot and sunny weather it's an altogether shock when it changes! So it was great this evening to get over the hydrotherapy where it's constantly hot!

While there I took a little bit of footage of Lola in action, just to prove it's not all pampering!

In the darkness...

No 2!

Donkey No 2! I think this little girl must have been born last night because she was so teeny and still quite wobbly, It was just gorgeous watching her try to balance on three legs for a little scratch! I'm sure Dawn will be along in a bit to name her!

Just a gorgeous girl....

Had a lovely email today from a fellow Newfy owner (Hi Kay!) who has been inspired to start scrapping due to little ol' me (and probably more importantly by my girls!) after a busy, busy couple of weeks, it's so wonderful to be reminded what lovely people scrappers are! I'm finding some other people quite challenging at the moment, but every single one of my scrapping pals just keeps on amazing me with their warmth and genuine nature. The same can of course be said of Newf owners! I think you have to be a special person to share your life completely with one (or quite often more!) of these wonderful creatures! If it's not too cliched, I'm thankful today for the good people in my life!

I think i'm probably still recovering from a hectic week.... it's only 9.30pm and I'm considering a *REALLY* early night!

Euphoria? Oh yes!

Bath Time!

It's great to have some gorgeous sunny, but Newfies definately qualify as real honorary Brits... as soon as it gets hot, we all moan that it's TOO hot! Martha is fine with the heat as long as she has constant (and I mean constant!) access to gallons of water, but Lola can't abide direct sun, even if it's actually not that hot!

So with Lola finding little corners out of the sun, I took the opportunity to give Martha a nice bath! It's quite a task bathing a Newf, they of course have a fabulous waterproof, double coat and it's an effort to get them wet to the skin and then equally hard work to get the shampoo out! Martha was a trooper and stood perfectly during the whole procedure!


Afterwards she felt lovely and cool so had just enough energy for a good game of tug rope!

Lazy Saturday

Weekend Euphoria!

This week we've all been working like troupers getting a big ol' display of gorgeous goodies ready for the DO customers to drool over including something new and Basically divine!! I love the feeling of the whole team pulling together and it's at frantic times like this that end up being the most inspiring and satisfying. But it's still one of the those TGIF days and to celebrate the end of the week I finally broke out the shorts and got out in the stunning warm sun after work. I bravely joined Martha for a little paddle, and it wasn't even too cold!

So with a totally unplanned weekend stretching out in front of me... it's all good!

Headless Chicken!

I know i've been a bad blogging scrapper.... but i'm hoping by the weekend things will be calmer and less busy and I'll be able to share some bits at last! I'm only just about getting a chance to post my daily pics at the moment!



I've not used my 50mm for quite a while, and I really should because i'd forgotton just how sharp the little blighter is! Took these in crappy crap light this evening as it was starting to get dark and i'm also pretty pleased with the levels of noise considering it was taken with ISO 1600.

Geoffrey?

As predicted (ok not on here... so you'll have to take my word for it!) the baby donkeys have started arriving! And OH MY GOD this little guy (girl?) was just the cutest little thing! I reckon this is the first one (at least round here) and he wasn't about on Monday night so he's a day and a bit old at the most!

And of course the obligitory pic of Martha - loving the comedy shaking picture, just check out those droopy jowls!!

I have a great big pile of layouts to scan and share and i'll try my very hardest tomorrow if i get a spare min!!! (I promise Dawn!)

The old ones are the best!

Despite being stuck indoors today while the sun finally shone, I did get out in the garden after work for a bit of fresh air! Check out this stunningly blue sky (didn't even miss with the saturation!) which wouldn't look out of place in the Med! I loved the gorgeous combination vibrant blue, sumptuous green oak leaves and delicate pink apple blossom! This combination is crying out to be used on a page... watch this space!

It's funny how you fall back into the old pattern of laughs with people you haven't seen in an age.... saw some old friends (and new ones) tonight and had a good ol' (alcohol free! - well me at least!) giggle! Sadly I forgot my camera, but if you know who you are and if you're reading this it was great to catch up!

Not much to report, except a lovely day of walking, scrapping and lots of laughs! And to top it off a few pics of cute creatures... it's all good.

Most dogs love toys with a bit of texture, be it fluffy, crunchy, rubbery or chewy, but toys with a bit of rope, like a tuggy rope seem to be really popular, but Newfies seem to have a particular love them. Be it a ball or Kong on a rope, or just a big knotted chewy rope they adore them! I'm sure there must be some deep seated dormant genetic memory of pulling boats into shore in the frosty waters of Newfoundland. They love to tug, shake and flail them about and never mind the consequences of bruised shins! Martha will woof and woof to try to encourage anyone who'll listen to be her playmate! So here's Martha in the dark this evening insisting on one last game today!

ps... I make no apologies for the obvious Star Wars joke today!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

....so to celebrate, I..... did absolutely nothing creative!! I had a lovely day though, having a walk, taking a few pics and catching up with the contents of my Sky+ box... altough I've still got 3 episodes of Heroes to watch!





I failed miserably to get a good pick of my new 'do' - my arm are to short for my 28-75mm and I couldn't be arsed to get anything shorter out! But I do have a new profile pic which I'll get up asap which gives you a hint!

Holiday! Celebrate!

Aaahhh!! It's finally the Bank Holiday weekend! 3 lovely days off and nothing planned! Luxury! Actually that's a lie, I'm having my hair cut tomorrow, so if it goes well i'll share a pic! Wonder if i've got the guts to take my camera with me to the salon!?



Martha found what could only be described as a tree trunk in the river today and had lots of fun dragging it about! We even had passers by in cars stopping to shout how cute she is!!!

May Day!

OMG how on earth can it be May already? And to great us it brought about an hour of hail this morning! Surreal! But later it cleared up and after work I took Martha for a paddle which she adored! I love the shot of her reaching up to try to reach the stick i was throwing! Such a funny girl!

Also making a return were the deer in the Forest, they've been conspicuous in their absence for a couple of weeks and I suspect they've been up on the open forest having babies! But know they are back and I did catch a distance glimspe of teeny deer!
